Can I Run Yuzu on 4GB RAM?
Emulators should in general not exceed Switch’s 4GB of dedicated RAM, with the exception of games that eat memory due to their nature or graphics. .
However, some emulators (such as Citra) have been known to work well on even less than 4GB of RAM. Some emulators – like yuzu – may run significantly better on a system with more RAM due to its use of virtual memory.
If you’re using a game emulator and your system has less than 4GB of RAM, it might be best to use a separate SD card for your emulator games.
Regarding Switch’s internal storage: while you can technically emulate any game onto the console’s internal storage, doing so is not recommended due to how the Switch performs file I/O.
This means that if you try to run an emulator game from the internal storage, it will likely perform worse than if you had stored the game on an external SD card.
